Seeing a doctor in Beijing as a foreigner

Beijing’s municipal government publishes a Medical Guide for Foreigners. It describes the usual flow at a hospital as registration, payment, consultation, then treatment, and it lists the major institutions in the city that run international medical departments.

Appointments are real-name: Beijing’s health commission requires a valid identity document number when booking, and a passport is one of the documents it names. The official channels are the Beijing 114 appointment platform and the “International Service Beijing” (Jingtong) mini-program inside WeChat and Alipay, which has an English option. Hospitals’ international departments often take bookings directly by phone or through their own apps as well.

Paying

For the international departments it lists, the city’s guide names RMB cash, major international credit cards, UnionPay cards, and WeChat Pay or Alipay as payment methods, and says that patients using insurance direct billing should bring their insurance card and passport. Do not assume every hospital or every department accepts foreign cards — ask before you go.
